Heligan Homecoming Festival

The Lost Gardens of Heligan

13-22 June 2025

Lose yourself in a world of possibility, creativity and curiosity.

A romantic, energising and immersive summer festival has been curated by the team at Heligan and will explore the themes of home and belonging through a mix of experiences for all ages, set within the enchanting Heligan estate.

As well as family foraging sessions, there will be beaver tours, and morning yoga sessions, alongside a lineup of wondrous speakers and performers.

For foodies, Heligan’s famous Lost Suppers will be more adventurous than ever, and everyone from the young to the young at heart will discover something fresh, meaningful and exciting.

Music, words, food and the joy of being human are woven into a heady mix by creative, nurturing and inspiring artists in a ten-day programme performed within the gardens and landscape of Heligan. 

Simon Armitage, Seth Lakeman, Dawn French, Gwenno, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, Patrick Gale, Kernow King, Satish Kumar and many more will respond to the theme of Home, in a unique programme for Cornwall.

A celebration of music, literature, art, culture, and food set in the enchanting Lost Gardens of Heligan.

Friday 13th JuneLaunch Evening with Seth Lakeman

The acclaimed artist, who has recently released his latest studio album The Granite Way, will be gracing our Field stage for an evening of folk music that stays true to his roots - referring to ancient stories that have inspired early West Country storytelling. Seth Lakeman will be supported on the night by Lostwithiel-based Martha Wood, playing  a mixture of original songs and tunes inspired by Cornwall’s folklore and history. From £35



Saturday 14th JuneHabitats and Homes

Panel talks with guests including artist Kurt Jackson, the Natural History Museum’s Dr Erica McAlister and presenter Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, with a special and intimate talk hosted by rewilding champion Derek Gow. Talks and a panel discussion with Sue and Pete Hill, Catrina Davies, and Natasha Carthew exploring the many meanings of ‘home.’ From £25


Sunday 15th JuneArt Activism and Garden Melodies

A day of talks, ideas and encounters exploring how creativity can shape the world, with guests Satish Kumar, Turner Prize-winning Jeremy Deller, Time Team creator Tim Taylor as well as Kneehigh Theatre’s Mike Shepherd. Folk singer, conservationist and activist Sam Lee takes to the Home Stage for a night of song and story. His latest critically acclaimed album songdreaming is named Mojo’s Album of the Month. Monday 16th June - Stand-Up in the Garden

Join us for a night of laughter and levity as Edward Rowe, affectionately known as the Kernow King, brings his side-splitting stand-up routine to the gardens. On the evening of Monday 16th June prepare for an unforgettable performance full of Cornish wit, charm, and plenty of laughs. From £35


Thursday 19th June - Indie pop beneath the stars

Starting the day with Mushrooms and Myth - Join Merlin Sheldrake, British mycologist and bestselling author of Entangled Life, Cornish Nature writer Wyl Menmuir and Dr James Canton, Wild Writing MA, Lally MacBeth, author and Dan Ryan, ecologist, for a day of ecological enlightenment. In the evening Welsh-Cornish singer songwriter and Mercury Prize-nominated Gwenno takes to our stage with support from singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Angeline Morrison. From £15


Friday 20th June - Nature by Design

Artistic exploration and deep history BBC Radio 3 presenter and author Petroc Trelawny, garden designer and presenter of Gardeners’ World Arit Anderson and forensic anthropologist Dame Sue Black join us for panel talks and conversation. We will also be joined by Rupert Callender, whose work reimagines rituals of farewell with honesty and heart. From £15


Saturday 21st June - Crafted for life

Emma Bridgewater CBE – a special talk from the renowned potter and artist. Reuben and Manni Coe, bestselling authors of brother. do. you. love. me. Live music from Hayden Thorpe and Clara Mann. Plus watch award-winning film, A Year in a Field, followed by Q&A with director Christopher Morris. Ending the day with a passion for poetry - Join us for an evening with award-winning poets Simon Armitage, Poet Laureate and Pascale Petit. From £20

Sunday 22nd June - Resilient spaces

Join us for a vibrant day packed with talks, tours, music, and special guests – all set within the beautiful grounds of The Lost Gardens of Heligan. Live Recording - BBC Radio 4’s Loose Ends plus a talk and audience Q&A from author Patrick Gale, garden photographer Howard Sooley in discussion and award-winning garden designer and broadcaster Hazel Gardiner. Moving into an evening with Dawn French and Sue Hill. From £35
